The Video Store

Here's a piece I completed on a street corner in a local neighborhood Roland park.  The store is called Video American.  Something about this place struck me - perhaps its unique look or the fact that video stores that are not huge chains seem to be up against the ease of Netflix or streaming video, and I felt like I needed to make record of it.

Get your Fall on

Life with 3 kids 4, 2 and newborn is making art more challenging but as with everything in life you need to adapt.  You simply have to find the times what little there is and fill it in with creative activity. I have a small sketckbook where I complete daily thumbnails of the neighborhood while out walking the dog.   I keep another sketchbook handy and do a drawing of the kids in the bathwater, and I have a watercolor notebook where I'll work scenes from memory or on the spot if there is time.  Here's a watercolor sketch (2 x 3 inches) I finished after dropping the kids off at school in the Roland Park neighborhood of Baltimore.
