A quick spot sketch done from a window that my children peer out of to nab a look at the garbage truck.

Workshop in Middleton

I completed this piece at a 2 day workshop in Middleton Maryland.  The workshop located in the rural landscape of Middleton,  was run by Walter Bartman. The theme was painting cows.   I feel good about this piece.  One, the painting was completed in the elements of cold, wind, and isolation of of the country landscape.  Two, the workshop leader liked it but that wasn't as important as recognizing that this space(the country side) is really who I am.  I grew up in rural Iowa so I connect with this area of rural Maryland.

If I focua and complete more pieces within this setting, good things will happen.  Its tough because the stresses and demands of life can cloud the pursuit of the artistic vision.  But I'm addicted to plein air painting and want to do more.
