From the sketchbook

A neighbor and I were attempting to coordinate a sketching session for her granddaughter last week. This was becoming especially difficult because Clara's schedule is not always consistent, Helen is not home until the evening and this sketch is a surprise for the neighbors daughter.

This particular Friday afternoon Clara had a longer nap and knowing the grandaughter was home, I called the grandmother. "Send her over,...I got mayber 1/ hour left on this nap." This is the result:

Clara Drawing


Time flies, and I am reminded of this cliche when I see the last post to this blog. Anyways. I've been drawing and sketching daily. Anytime I manage to find a moment, I'm sketching something-usually Clara. I've realized that I have gotten along in my artistic life with average drawing skills, and its time to focus on getting better. Whatever that means but progress is slow and you only further your skill by practicing daily.
